Abed Nadir is a student at Greendale Community College so he can one day take over his father's falafel restaurant. Some of Abed's classmates suspect he has Aspergers syndrome because of his inability to take social or emotional cues, but he has not actually been diagnosed with it. Abed is a fan of movies and television and often uses them to draw connections in real life. He is portrayed by Danny Pudi.

Personal Life
Abed doesn't have any strong friendships or relationships (possibly because of his possible Aspergers syndrome). He wants to be friendly to people, but he can't gauge if he is asking too many questions or getting too personal. To combat his lack of personal connection, he watches lots of television and movies. He has a very good memory and can recall facts about these programs as well as details that people tell him. ("Pilot")
Family
Abed's father is from Palestine and married an American woman. They are now divorced, mostly because his father is an angry individual. ("Pilot")
At Greendale
After coming to American from Palestine, Abed's father opened a falafel restaurant. Now that he is older, it is Abed's responsibility to take over. Abed enrolled to take business and restaurant management classes for this reason.
In the study group
Abed joined the study group for the same two reasons most of the other people joined: to meet people and to learn Spanish.
